There is no greater
happiness than that of sharing life,
With all its joys and all its cares,
As a loving husband and wife.
Your Wedding is Unique
There are many different types and styles of wedding ceremonies. Some
couples are young, others not so. Some are being married for the first
time, and others unite with partners other than those they started
their journey with.
Some weddings are elaborate affairs, planned months or
even years in advance. Others are quickly organised in
the minimum time available. Some are surprise weddings,
where the guests don’t find out until the last moment.
|
The Venue for Your Ceremony is Limited
Only by Your Imagination.
Some couples marry in their home, a hotel or a function centre. Others choose
parks, beaches, islands, cliff tops, caves and boats. Some have a cast of thousands,
and others may have only the bride and groom, their two witnesses and the celebrant.
Whatever the style of marriage, wherever the location and
whatever the circumstances your wedding will be unique.
The Freedom to Choose
An important advantage of having your marriage authorised by a civil celebrant
is that you have the freedom to be personally involved in the development
of your ceremony.
A civil marriage ceremony allows you complete freedom of
choice. It is your wedding; you are the reason for it, and
the focus of the ceremony. You choose the date, the time,
the place, the words, the music and how you wish the ceremony
to be conducted. |

Music
Music can play an important part in your wedding ceremony; it sets the mood
and can be very inspiring and uplifting. You are free to choose any music
that is significant and meaningful to you.
Often Pachelbel’s Canon in D Major will be used as prelude
music as people gather. The entrance of the bride may be accompanied
with the Wedding March from ‘Lohengrin,’ known as ‘Here
Comes the Bride,’ or Mendelssohn’s Wedding March. Tom
can provide a free CD of these three pieces on request.
Every Word Will be Heard
During any ceremony it is very important that all those in attendance can hear
every word spoken.
Tom’s public address system is a powerful, professional,
yet unobtrusive one; it is state-of-the-art, with no microphone
cords for people to trip over. It is capable of playing background ‘mood’ music
and spoken voice at the same time, with no squeals or crackles;
just crisp clear sound.

A marriage...
Makes of two fractional lives a whole;
It gives to two purposeless lives a work,
And doubles the strength of each to perform it;
It gives to two questioning natures a reason for living,
And something to live for;
It will give a new gladness to the sunshine,
A new fragrance to the flowers,
A new beauty to the earth,
And a new mystery to life.- Mark Twain |

credible, responsive and sensitive." - Melanie & Joseph
Legal Requirements
The marriage laws of Australia require that a Notice of Intended
Marriage must be received by the celebrant at least 1 month and
1 day prior to the intended wedding date. Tom will supply the
form, or you can click here to download
a copy in PDF format.
You will be required to attend at least
one meeting with Tom to sign the legal documentation, and to discuss
the content and wording
of your ceremony. At that meeting Tom is required to sight both
your full birth certificates, and Decree/s Absolute (divorce
papers), if relevant, or if a previous spouse has died, a copy
of the relevant
death certificate/s.
-
Please note:
-
These must be original documents;
photocopies or faxed copies are not acceptable.
-
If you don’t
have your original birth certificates, or the death certificate
of a previous
spouse,
new documents can be obtained from the office
of Births, Deaths and Marriages.
-
Extracts of birth certificates
are not sufficient.
-
If you don’t have your divorce
papers, new documents can be obtained from the Family Law Court.
