I Love you not only for who you are,
but for what I am when I am with you.
For not only what you have made of yourself,
but what you are making of me.

A Time to Re-Affirm Your Love
There are times when a married couple may feel the desire to renew and reaffirm their commitment to love and honour each other as husband and wife.

A Renewal of Vows ceremony not only provides the married couple with an opportunity to reaffirm their love and commitment, but it also provides their families with a wonderful opportunity to become involved and to express their appreciation of their parents and grandparents. It’s an excellent occasion for the expression of love and joy, and family unity and strength.

By participating in a Renewal of Vows ceremony family relationships are often bonded more deeply, as they come to a more insightful understanding of the precious relationship that is being celebrated. Reaffirmation gives the couple not only the opportunity to renew their commitment to each other but also to involve their children and grandchildren in the ceremony. You may also like to include family or friends in your ceremony or children from a previous relationship.

A Time for Renewal
Renewal of Vows ceremonies take place for many and varied reasons, but most often one of the following:

• To celebrate a significant wedding anniversary, be it 5 years or 65 years.

• To share a celebration of marriage with guests who were not at the original ceremony. If a couple was married interstate or overseas it’s a wonderful opportunity to share another ceremony with friends and family back home.

• Renewal of Vows ceremonies are also suitable for married couples who may have separated, but now desire to reunite.

• Some couple also feel the need for such a ceremony when their original wedding ceremony, for one reason or another, was not meaningful to them.
